- Carole and Bill Doreski are college professors who founded the Negativity Institute to combat the national tendency to resist facing up to and solving problems. The threat of vaccine induced sarcoma in cats is an example of a problem that almost certainly has a solution, yet because of the refusal of various responsible parties (vaccine manufacturers, the USDA, many veterinarians) to deal with it honestly and sensibly it has become epidemic. Veterinary oncologists and some researchers have been candid about the problem, but without the cooperation of all parties, this deadly cancer isn’t going to go away. The Negativity Institute is dedicated to publicizing problems that we as a nation can solve if we’re willing to admit the problems exist. Unfortunately, few of our national or local leaders seem eager to acknowledge the faults in our infrastructure, political system, and social fabric. The Negativity Institute wants to remind us that there’s really nothing negative about confronting and solving problems.
